The book Nederlands in Actie will be used for exploring the themes as Foreigners in The Netherlands, Health, Relations, Art & Culture and Literature (new vocabulary) as well as for presenting grammatical structures. Emphasis is placed on improving fluency in speaking and expanding vocabulary. Grammar and learning about the Dutch culture are an integral part of this course. Special attention will be given to speaking skills by using:

• the “speaking skills cards”
• ‘Taaltempo’
• the list of conversation topics
• a question and answer list with topics of general knowledge of The Netherlands
• talking about a news paper article

For practising one’s listening skills we use texts from a variety of methods. For practising one’s writing skills, some writing assignments will be given for homework. For extra practice on grammatical topics the Stepping Stone II handout will be given in order to work at in class (in pairs) and at home individually.

Below an overview:

Group size: 4-10 students. It is possible to enroll for a course after it has started. Students might however need to have a number of private ‘catch-up’ lessons before they can join the course.

Intake: It is recommended to make an appointment to assess your level. It is free of charge.

Course fee: € 360,00 exclusive of the course book but inclusive of all other learning materials. A special rate of € 310,00 is available to post-secondary students.
